A PhD position is open at Institut Telecom, France.

Institut Telecom, Telecom SudParis, Service Architecture lab is hiring one master graduate for a
doctoral position (3 years full contract) starting in Jan 2012. The institute is a telecommunications
research and education centre, located outside Paris in Evry, France.

The position will focus on the field of On-line Social Networks (OSNs). On-line Social Networks (OSNs)
such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc have irrupted in the society in the last few years becoming one
of the most successful services within the Internet. Some of them are formed by hundred of millions of
users that every day spend a considerable amount of time performing different activities (i.e. posting,
updating social information, sharing multimedia content, etc) in the OSNs framework.  Furthermore,
business companies have started to exploit OSNs in their marketing campaigns since they are becoming a 
quick way to bring a message to millions of persons. Therefore, the PhD candidate will investigate the
field of OSN in the global market domain. 

Requirements:
- Recent master in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering,
- Research background in relevant communication and networking technologies.
- Talented individuals with strong motivation, team spirit.
- Excellent English skills are a prerequisite (French is not needed as English is the working language).
- Good programming skills in major languages: C, C++, Java.
- Good programming skills in scripting languages: Python, Perl, etc.
- Good knowledge of Databases: MySQL.
