The material will be uploaded dynamically: the teaching approach is based on PBL and much of the
learning will be through interaction/group work during the assigned lecturing time. (Please check the website
for updates before every lecture.)
Assessment
The assessment will be structured as follows:
Practical Project Work (50%), 3rd February(latest)
Sessions are a mix of problem-based learning, group project work,
directed practicals, interactive lectures and traditional lectures. There is no preset format - the lecturer
organises the style and content of each session depending on the needs of the class.
Please note that to access internet from C106 you may need to set the proxy server for your web browser
to proxy.int-evry.fr and port 81.
Session 1: Thursday 18th November (13h30, C106) - Introduction
Session 6: Thursday 6th January (9h00, C106) - Team Project Planning
In this session each student will (briefly) present an overview of their proposed plan in order to
complete the 15-puzzle project. The plans will be evaluated and 2 (or more) will be chosen for
implementation. Please prepare a plan before you come to class.
Session 7: Monday 10th January (all day, C106) - Some Useful Tools
Session 8: Thursday 13th January (9h, C106) - Working on your project
This session is dedicated to working on your project and making best use of the team members.
It will also provide some useful context for following lectures when we examine risk analysis,
risk mitigation and resource management.
Session 9: Tuesday 18th January (13h45, C106) - PSP
There are no course texts but the following books have inspired some of the material included in the
course and provide additional information that you may find useful.
