The purpose of the interview is:

to get to know you,

to see if you have the skills and experiences and

to check that the recruiter is not going to make a mistake in recruiting you.


Interviewers are from different backgrounds. You may be interviewed by a trained HR person or someone who has little experience in interviewing. The interviewer may be an engineer who has the knowledge, experience and skills for the job and has been doing the job for many years. He/she could also be a team member who wants to know if you two can get along. It is therefore important to take into consideration who is going to interview you and if possible find out who it will be. Of course you do have to adapt your language, including terminology, level of detail, etc. accordingly.
